Booking Terms & Conditions
These terms exist to make sure every event runs smoothly for you and for Thomas. They're straightforward, fair, and designed to protect everyone involved.Last updated: September 2026
1. Booking & Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed once Thomas has received your enquiry, discussed the details of your event, and a written confirmation has been exchanged via email or message. Until these steps are complete, your date remains available to other clients. Thomas will always confirm availability before proceeding with any planning.
2. Minimum Notice Period
All bookings require a minimum of 7 days notice prior to the event date. This allows adequate time for menu design, ingredient sourcing, and preparation.
For bookings made with less than 7 days notice, Thomas will do his best to accommodate where possible, but this cannot always be guaranteed. Please get in touch and we'll see what we can do.
3. Payment
Full payment is due on the day of the event, prior to or upon Thomas's arrival. For drop-off catering orders, full payment is due upon delivery.
No deposit is required to secure your booking. Thomas works on trust, and a written confirmation is all that's needed to hold your date.
Bank transfer details will be provided on your quote. Cash payments are also accepted.
4. Cancellation Policy
Life happens. Thomas understands that plans can change and will always do his best to be flexible.
More than 7 days before the event: no charge.
2 to 7 days before the event: 50% of the quoted amount may be requested.
Less than 48 hours before the event: full quoted amount may be requested.
Thomas will only ever apply these terms reasonably and in good faith. If something unexpected comes up, just reach out as early as possible. Communication goes a long way.
Thomas will equally communicate openly if exceptional circumstances arise on his end and will always offer to reschedule wherever possible.
5. Dietary Requirements & Allergies
Thomas takes dietary requirements and food allergies seriously. To ensure every guest is safe and well looked after, all dietary requirements, allergies, and intolerances must be communicated at least 7 days before the event.
This includes but is not limited to: gluten intolerance, nut allergies, dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian, halal, and any medical dietary needs.
While every care is taken to accommodate requirements and avoid cross-contamination, Thomas operates in domestic kitchens and cannot guarantee a fully allergen-free environment.
It is the client's responsibility to inform Thomas of any severe or life-threatening allergies prior to booking confirmation.
6. Menu & Customisation
All menus are designed in consultation with the client. Thomas will present a proposed menu based on your brief, preferences, and budget.
Minor adjustments to the menu may be made up to 5 days before the event. Significant changes requested within 5 days of the event may not always be possible, depending on ingredient availability and preparation requirements.
Thomas reserves the right to substitute an ingredient with an equivalent of equal or greater quality in the event of unforeseen supply issues, with client notification wherever possible.
7. Pricing & Quotes
All quotes are provided in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of:
Menu consultation and design
Ingredient sourcing and shopping
On-site preparation, cooking, and service (Services 01 and 02)
Full kitchen clean-up after service (Services 01 and 02)
Delivery, packaging, presentation homeware, and post-event collection of all containers, foam boxes, and materials (Service 03)
Quotes are valid for 14 days from the date of issue. Prices may vary between events based on seasonal ingredient availability, guest numbers, and event complexity. A final quote will always be confirmed in writing before any commitment is made.
8. Client Responsibilities
To allow Thomas to deliver the best possible experience, the client agrees to:
Provide access to a clean, functional kitchen with adequate space and utilities.
Ensure all relevant dietary information has been communicated in advance.
Have the agreed number of guests as quoted. Significant changes to guest numbers within 72 hours may affect pricing.
Ensure safe and accessible parking is available at the event location.
9. Liability
Thomas carries public liability insurance and operates in full compliance with Queensland food safety regulations.
Thomas is not liable for any adverse reactions resulting from undisclosed dietary information or allergies not communicated prior to the event.
Thomas is not responsible for any damage to property unrelated to his direct actions during the service.
In the unlikely event of any concern, clients are encouraged to reach out to Thomas directly. He will always aim to resolve things openly and promptly.
10. Privacy
Any personal information shared with Thomas, including name, contact details, dietary information, and address, is used solely for the purpose of delivering your booked service and is never shared with third parties.
For full details on how your data is handled, please see our Privacy Policy.
11. Photography
Thomas may photograph dishes prepared during your event for use on his website and social media. No photos of guests, private spaces, or personal details will ever be shared without explicit consent.
If you would prefer no photography during your event, simply let Thomas know in advance.
By confirming a booking with Chef Thomas Sorel, you agree to these terms and conditions.
